Joseph J. Grilli, M.P.A., D.P.A., director of Corporate and Institutional Recruitment at Misericordia University, has been selected to participate in the 2016-17 Senior Leadership Academy, cosponsored by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) and the American Academic Leadership Institute.
The year-long program is geared toward mid-level administrators in higher education who aspire to senior leadership positions. Upon completion of the program, participants will gain considerable knowledge, skills, and experiences that are germane to the responsibilities and activities that are central to the work of a vice president or cabinet officer in higher education, according to CIC. The fall seminar will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana in November, with the closing seminar taking place in Washington, D.C., in June 2017.
Dr. Grilli has more than 12 years of experience in higher education, serving as a member of the faculty and administration. He holds a Doctor of Public Administration and a Master of Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Wilkes University.
"Dr. Grilli continues the ability to work across all colleges to work toward improving the educational experience for the adult learner, and seeking ways to ease the transition to the classroom for those who may have been away from formal schooling for a long period,'' Misericordia University President Thomas J. Botzman, Ph.D., wrote in the nomination letter for Dr. Grilli. "Dr. Grilli has expressed his desire to move forward in this organization, and participation in this program will add to the tools he will need to reach this goal.''
